Giving Thanks for my Newfoundland Family

For me the fertile soil, soft rolling hills, and orchard fruit for those who love in peace

For you the barren rock, the rugged cliff and bitter fruit from upland shrub

They need no care but in defiance cling --to earth untended

Bred with the wind and sea-- lock within their core the taste of salt

But for my Valley I would call this land my home

Newfoundland!

  1. All the pictures are more than beautiful. My very favorite is to click on the last one, it will enlarge and you will see such a lovely moment with the child and Dad, the sun and the water!

  10. Newfoundland is my favourite place in Canada. I visited it over twenty years ago and I still remember it as if it were yesterday. Beautiful.

  12. Jo (Stella's 'Mom') sent me over as she knew I had been on holiday in Newfoundland earlier this year. Some absolutely beautiful photos there, and a few places I recognise. I too saw many irises, rocks, picturesques coastal villages, mist, sun. But no sheep. (But then I have plenty of those back home in Scotland!

Thanks for bringing back memories of a happy time.

    Cheers, Gail (Bertie's 'Mum') .
