The Story of Saige
Three years ago when we finally felt we were in a responsible place to get a puppy, we decided on a Wolfhound for several reasons. We wanted a bigger, athletic breed as we are quite active and enjoy hiking, camping and the outdoors. Wolfhounds are also a dry mouth dog, so no chords of drool--rare in giant breeds. We have found them to offer very little odour, shedding and barking as well. The only downside was that they are a short lived breed. But that is a problem for humans, not for Wolfhounds.
And this beautiful litter was born on August 15, 2006 to a fantastic breeder in New Brunswick. That is Saige in the yellow collar, and Silver, Saige's sister in the pink collar. Silver lives further up the Annapolis Valley and we visit now and then. Initially we wanted that pink collared puppy, but the breeder said Saige was a more outgoing pup, and would better suit our lifestyle. She really got it right!
And here are Saige and Silver a few weeks old..Saige was the first born in the litter and the first to try everything. Do you like her tiger stripes?

We thought a female would be a good choice--a nice big dog--perhaps 100-130 pounds.
