Saige here and that is my breeder and my sister Hannagh! She looks like me, huh? I was really happy to see them after 3 years. The breeder said I would have made a good show dog EXCEPT THAT....
MY NOSE IS ALL WRONG!!!! The breeder said it is too long and pointy for an Irish Wolfhound. It is more like a Scottish Deerhound or Borzoi. Well, blame the breeder not me! hehehe
Well actually, did you know that in the mid 19th century when we were a dying breed, Captain Graham took what was thought to be the last remaining Irish Wolfhound specimens and bred them with Deerhonds, Borzoi, Mastiffs and Great Danes to revive us!
So maybe I am just a throw back to those days, huh? Or better yet, how about this....
... I AM A CLASSIC BEAUTY!!!!! Yes! That is it...
Wouldn't you agree? Actually, I quite like my nose just the way it is....and besides, it worked for Barbra Striesand...
We think your nose is just perfect Saige!!! Some lovely pics there - expecially loved the one beside the river with the lovely autumnal colours.
ReplyDeleteYes you are a classic beauty something like ourselves!
love
Martha & Bailey xxxx
ps in our wordless pics I was not letting Bailey cross the bridge! It is my bridge you see - love Martha x
Tha is a beautiful picture of you with the fall foliage! Lovely!
ReplyDeleteWoooos Is a classic beawooty if I say so myself! A stunning picture of a regal girl!

We love your nose Saige.
ReplyDeleteLove Ruby & Penny
I'd kiss that nose!
ReplyDeleteYou are absolutely gorgeous. Yes, breeds do have standard for the outside but your insides are what counts and your insides are remarkable!
ReplyDeleteWe think you are beautiful just the way you are

You ARE beautiful!!! 100%. That whole "breed standard" thing is sooooo over-rated. Trust me. They say I'm "too tall". Too tall!?!? I"m from TEXAS! Everything's bigger in Texas!
ReplyDeleteLuv,
DAve
What is wrong with your snooter? NOTHING! But it is good that your breeder thinks there is or you would not have found your nice home, right?
ReplyDeleteI did not know that wolfies had some mastiffs such as myself in their way back background. Cool.
Slobbers,
Mango
that snozz of yours is mighty fine if you ask me. Who am I to talk though, my color is so far off breed standard its not even funny! Luckily Mom likes me just the way I am.
ReplyDeleteMom said there was a bootiful wolfhound in the Sandy Eggo Craigslist just the other day. 3 years old and quite handsome...she thought about calling and possibly adopting, but our house is super duper small and I take up almost all of it!
I think she should just get a new house!
wags, wiggles & slobbers
Murphydog
Oh Saige - we think we both have a little bit of a crush on you! That close up of your nose made us just want to come over and plant schnauzer kisses all over it!! Beautiful - just beautiful! It was Hardy who said 'it is the small imperfections that enhances true beauty' - or in other words, who wants to look just like everyone else?!! We get told that JD could not be a show dog either as his ears are 'too high' and that he is much too tall for a miniature schnauzer - we say 'humph' to that!! Schnauzer snuggles - JD and Max.
ReplyDeleteAw, you Wolfies just stay as sweet as you are, thats all you have to do. Oh, or just grow a few more inches if you feel like it! Standards are soooo silly!
ReplyDeleteKisses,
Stella
I think you look wild, wooly, and wonderful. You are a very regal breed. And who cares about that old nose anyway!
ReplyDeleteYou look great the way you are. My ears are wrong, and Sally Ann is to tall;and, her ears are circles not triangles.
ReplyDeleteMack
We think you have a perfect snozzle!!!
ReplyDelete((hugs)) your friends
Oskar, Schatzi & Xena
Hmph! I think that breeder should look again. You are a classic beauty indeed!
ReplyDeleteI love the nose....my Mom's nose isn't pawfect either but those are the things that make us special and unique. ;) Hey, was that a Ridgeback booty behind your breeder?
