Brigadoon

  1. How absolutely bootiful! I was in Nova Scotia in the mid-70s on a bike tour with my sister and was absorbed by its beauty! Nigel and Sola sent us here! Good to get to know you!

  2. Oh...I'd love to travel to your area. This pic is worthy of a calendar!

Hey..do you have poison ivy or oak where you are? Or any other plants that would make a person itchy? I need to know if this setting is perfect or threatening ;)

  4. What a gorgeous piece of art that picture is!

But I wish you wouldn't say Brigadoon because everytime my Mom hears that word she starts singing songs from the musical. It gets to be a bit much after a while.

  8. A beautiful picture!

Many thanks for your comments - life is never simple when we have dogs that make such an impression! Honey, the Great Dane, had very similar comments about what people say to her as well!

Hope you have a good weekend

  10. Hi Janice,

Thank YOU for YOUR lovely comment!! It really made my day! It's funny how we can be so far apart in the world and yet share so many opinions and experiences! Perhaps it is the thing about owning a giant breed...one of the things I love most about starting the blog is how it's connected me with like-minded dog owners from around the world - it's like having a whole new circle of wonderful friends! :-)

ps. you're SO right about the double standards for the behaviour of big and little dogs - I think it's really unfair - a big dog can't yawn without someone labelling them as aggressive whereas a small dog can often act like a total maniac and people think it's cute and spunky!! :-( Don't get me wrong - we know a lot of LOVELY small dogs with very sensible, responsible owners but there are an awful lot of small dogs out there that belong to a certain "type" of owner who treat them as surrogate children (or grandchildren) and fuss over them ridiculously and therefore encourage all sorts of terrible behaviour, which they then find excuses for...and blame other people or dogs if anything bad happens! Grrrr! As you can see, we've had first-hand experience of this and it's a very sore topic with me!! :-)
