Saige here reporting from Crick Hollow. We saw 6 painted turtles yesterday.
The first few we just smelled....
But then I got bold.
I started pawing them and flipping them over.
Ouur human had to flip them back over.
Big claws for digging!
Then I got really saucy and picked one up! I took off running ....
I suffered from temporary deafness and didn't hear the "DROP IT!" command...
Well, I took it right into the water...
AND I DROPPED IT!!!
See??? There it goes....
Oh, sweetie, you wanted to help the turtle get back home. I've never seen anything so darned adorable. I hope you got a big hug from your human! You are just too cute☺
ReplyDeleteAwwwww, how nice of you to put the little turtle in the river. Our mom's always assume the worst.
ReplyDeleteWiggles,
Brind'Amour
How nice of you to catch and release! :) We love turtles, and stop traffic to get them off roads around here. Too cute!
ReplyDeleteAhh...I love turtles too. We rescue them all the time. Thanks to your lovely doggie for helping the cause :o)
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! We don't see many if any turtles around here. They look like they would be fun to check out. Crick Hollow looks like a wonderful place to explore. Especially since it has water. Bet there are lots of good sniffs.
ReplyDeleteSaige you were so good to "catch & release" the one you had. You looked like you wrere being very gentle with it.
Ernie & Sasha
I bet those would be fun to catch! They are about the size of my little frisbee.

Oh wow! I've never met turtles before...you were very brave, Saige...I think I would have been terrified of them! (I'm easily terrified, I have to admit) But that was very nice of you to help one return home...hee! hee! :-)
ReplyDeleteSlobbers,
Honey the Great Dane
Hi, nice to meet you. I'm here to congratulate you on your Golden Hydrant award. I am a follower of Life with Dogs and see that you are a worthy recipient of this coveted award. ;0=)
ReplyDeleteI just met my first turtle last week. Didn't look like your turtle. Yours is much cooler. Mine was boring so I left it alone, never gave it a thought to pick it up. Next time I will know better.
*I too suffer from random temporary deafness. I've found it usually occurs when I find something particularly interesting that needs my attention.
I'd like to add that you are one radically cool lookin' dude!
See ya 'round,
Chester ;0=)
This just gave me the biggest smile of the day - thankyou!
