Annapolis Royal

Here I am in historic Annapolis Royal--the first European settlement in North America!

All the pictures you see of me by the River in older posts are at the Annapolis River...but this is the end of that same River, and now it is the ocean. So this is the Annapolis Basin.

And Annapolis Royal was established as a Fort by the French...and there is Fort Anne down there.

There are cannons hidden behind the hills everywhere so the French could attack the English when they sailed into the Basin. It is strange to think this actually happened, huh?

GULP-- and this one is pointed right at my head!

And here is a hidden underground fort!

And there are dugouts all the way around it...

No way am I going down there!

But my mom went down and here I am crying....

Ok students! I hope you all paid attention to the history lesson because there will be a test on this tomorrow---HEHEHE, just kidding...

  5. Whoa! I hope there's no test or quiz after that lesson! I did pay attention though so I guess it would be okay if we got one.
