Beside me now Beneath Me

I have been lonely these days. At the time of this posting, my humans will be in Montreal picking me up a new sister. She is a 4 years old, blind Irish wolfhound. She came from a horrible situation of animal hoarding and breeding with 80 other dogs. The entire 4 years with Saige were the same 4 years that Maggi lived-- except one hound had a dream life and the other had a bad life. Now it is our turn to give Maggi the life she deserves, and it is our hope that she will pick of where Saige left off, and Saige would love that.

  2. Oh this warms my soul. Thank you! Maggi will be loved and blessed by your care. We understand how difficult her issues will be with her being blind but with patience I know all will be well.

  20. hey Guinness,

What beautiful pictures of you, and I really love with one with you and Saige. What a bittersweet story of the four years - Saige living a wonderful life with you and Maggi living in horror. It is truly heartwarming that Maggi will be able to live out the rest of her years with you as her brother. I know you and your family will provide her with unlimited love, care, and happiness. I can't wait to meet her!

  24. We have no doubt that Saige had a paw is sending Maggi your way. Maggi is going to need a gentle big brother to help her and she's lucky she's getting you.

Mama had a blind dog years ago. He became blind after he had lived with mama for years, so he was scared and confused for a few days, but he very quickly adapted and was soon running in the house and the yard just like before, because he knew where everything was and he had the other doggies to key off of. Maggi may take longer, as it's a new geography as well as a new family, but we're sure she'll adapt in a couple of weeks [or less] and do just fine. Once she has trust in you, she'll enjoy going for walks and seeing the sights with her nose. It's actually easier for dogs to adapt than people, because their senses of hearing and smell help them compensate so much faster than people do. Good luck! And VERY good job!
