The Hills are Alive

Oh hi, It's just Guinness. I am here at Groucho's HouseO. He wants me to help him with his audition for "The Sound of Music". He is trying for the role of Fraulein Maria.

We go through some test runs. But Groucho says the setting isn't authentic enough. He doesn't FEEL the part.

We take it outside and I must admit the difference in his attitude is astounding!

Groucho--you go run around like Fraulein Maria and I will judge you....

There he goes. I thought it was pretty good but Groucho says the air is too dry. Well go warm up your vocal chords then. SHEESH!
Mi Mi Mi Mi. So So So So......LaLaLaLa.......

Doe Doe Doe Doe. Ti Ti Ti Ti ...a drink with jam and bread, La ...a note to follow So....

Ok, Ok. That should be good, for Pete's sake Groucho. Now, run down that hill and try again.

Oh. There he goes. Hehehe, the little ratty. " The Hills are Alive...da da dee da dum!"

What's that? You are parched from the running? Oh. is your personal assistant with your herbal tea. OH BROTHER!

Ok. Ok. Let's try something else. You go over that way and run and jump around. Try to support your notes a little better....stop singing through your nose so much.

Not bad, Not bad. It was a little pitchy for me, but you did your thing dawg.

What the? Oh great. He is up to his old tricks now. GROUCHO!!! You CAN NOT LEVITATE UP In THE TREES FOR YOUR AUDITION. It will freak the judges out totally!!!! GET DOWN!

JUST STAY RIGHT THERE. Now, try singing your part. No funny stuff.

What's that? You are going? You want to go home now?

Well that is just great. That figures. He has the attention span of a gnat. Tell me...anyone... How do you solve a problem like Maria?

  1. This is just about the best post EVER! Now I'm thinking about all those songs..ha!

Okay..Grocho is quite a 'diva' in the making. Good think G is helping him keep grounded.

  2. Ha Ha - you always give us a nice surprise - that Groucho is just too much. Hope he gets the role - now wouldn't THAT be something? ;-)

Woos ~ Phantom, Thunder, and Ciara

  3. What a diva! He doesn't have the part and already he has a personal assistant? He sure seems pleased with himself too. Tra la la la. If he gets the lead there will be no living with him.

  4. Oh Guiness what an instructor you are. Groucho what a voice and you have an assistant!
    Benny & Lily

  5. I have to admit I do love that movie, but I dont know if I can see Groucho as Maria. I do love his happy face though!

  6. Sure Groucho appreciated your help!
    Kisses and hugs

  7. What a great help you are Wolfie. All Groucho's missing is a frock ;) Blue for Do-re-Mi and a habit for the 'Hills are Alive' hehehe.

  8. What we wanna know is who is gonna sew the dress for Groucho to play Maria?

  9. Guinness, we loved that post so much - the songs are singing around in our heads now and we are still laughing!

We met a 16 month old Irish wolfhound the other day - Oscar! He was absoultely fab - Murray and Sorcha fell in love with him and he wanted to come home with us - tried to get into our car but Clive was having none of it! Infact, Clive wasn't too friendly with him at all!

We'll post up a few photos of Oscar this week - Murray wants an Irish wolfhound now - having admired you for so long and then getting to meet a wolfhound and spend an afternoon with him - he's smitten! However, don't think Clive would share the house!!

    take care
    Murray's Mom

  10. We LOVE the sound of music .... it's one of our favs!!
I think that you can only solve a problem like maria with time and patience...or a good run through the park! I don't think you can marry groucho off, so patience will probably have to win the day.
My mom doesn't like my singing...she calls it howling, and she says I do it at the worst times of the day ( when she's sleeping ) . Can't blame a dog for wanting to greet the day with a good song though!

thanks for the great story reading them

  11. Maybe if Groucho had an OUTFIT, dirndl skirt, blouse, and a nice pair of flats he could more get into the role. D'ya think, Guinness?

High on a hill stood a lonely goatherd, ladi, odle ladi, hoooooo!

  12. Oh Groucho - FH is SO in love with your cute self! She adores that smile of yours - you are such a happy hound! We think that you made a great coach Guinness - firm but fair, we liked that, he he he! We absolutely LOVED this post!!

Schnauzer snuggles - JD and Max.

  13. I think Groucho just needs to wear a dirndl and then he'll feel the part! :-)

by the way, that first picture with the pumpkins is just GORGEOUS! The colours!!

  14. Hey Guinness & Groucho.
Thanks for sharing this chuckle. Mom makes me watch Sound of Music every year, but I don't think I'll ever appreciate it now without the alien dog bed-head Maria. BOL HAR BWAR. This was very fun. As always, I loved the scenery.
    Grr and Woof,

  15. Yes, now I will be having those songs going through my head tonight while trying to sleep! I was just telling my husband the other day that we should buy the Sound of Music DVD.
